First visit, on a Friday night in March. Food was really good and some interesting choices on the menu that we'd not seen elsewhere. Service was a little slow but it was busy. Just under 100 without tip for two courses and drinks for 3 people.
Absolutely fantastic food. So tasty and cooked to perfection. Big portions, I had to take a doggy bag home! Staff very friendly and pleasant also. I will definitely be returning here
Great little spot. Passed it for years being a truck driver. Finally had the chance to call in , and I was not disappointed. Fantastic food made to ur desire spice level. Great beverages. Welcoming staff (baring in mind I'm a trucker that works with pigs). Highly recommended and can't wait to return myself
This is our second time dinning at this restaurant and all I can say we were impressed each time. Each time we visit the area we generally eat at a Indian restaurant in Sunderland but we wanted somewhere closer. After trying several other restaurants, the Char Mausum has impressed us. We will definitely use this restaurant again.
Had a meal there last night with my wife and thought the food and service was fantastic. Everything was very tasty and fresh and in plentiful portions. The place was full when we arrived which is a good sign of their reputation. First time there and will definitely be returning.
The food was fabulous. Definitely a cut above the norm. Service was a bit slow, but well worth the wait & acceptable given the way the food was prepared and served. The staff were great too

My wife and I returned to Northumberland for a short visit recently where we lived for many years, I stumbled across the Char Mausum whilst scouring Google maps for an Indian restaurant, at very short notice Mohamed the owner fitted us in on a busy Saturday evening, and how lucky we were, the food was absolutely delicious, there’s a very unusual and varied menu to choose from. I started with the Allo Tikki a sort of spicy patty as a starter and had the Hyderabadi lamb keema masala as my main course with onion rice, a dish that I have never come across at any of the hundreds of Indian restaurants I have eaten at around the world. The whole experience was so enjoyable I have booked for September when I will be returning with some golfing pals from the London and Manchester areas.
